The Journey of Steve Jaron

Climbing the tree one branch at a time

#FamilyTree365 – Day 33 October 3, 2016

Again this post is backdated.

So part of researching my father’s side of the family is trying to determine if and how certain people are related (obviously).

One such person is Yakov Yurovsky, the man who murdered Czar Nicholas II.  It is believed he is related because his last name is the same as my original family name of Yurovsky.

Yakov was born in 1878 in Siberia to Mikhail Yurovsky and Ester Moiseevna.  Apparently the family belonged the Russian Orthodox Church but had Jewish origins.  In 1938 he died as a result of Stalin’s Great Purge but was survived by his wife and children.

At this time any connection to my Yurovsky ancestors is yet to be found
